NIH Molecular Libraries Probe Production Centers Network (MLPCN)

Shankel Structural Biology Center

The Specialized Chemistry Center is housed in the Structural Biology Center (SBC) on KU's west campus. Three main cores (informatics, synthesis/purification, and administration) comprise the KU SCC, as well as an additional center-driven research project which addresses the question of intracellular target identification for small molecule probes.  The principal investigator and director of the KU SCC is Jeffrey Aubé, University Distinguished Professor of Medicinal Chemistry The Specialized Chemistry Center is housed in the Structural Biology Center (SBC) on KU's west campus.

On June 9, 2008 the KU CMLD Center moved into its new research space on the second floor of the Structural Biology Center (SBC) on KU's west campus!  The move centralizes CMLD library synthesis, analysis, and management activities, and places the CMLD Center upstairs from KU's High Throughput Screening Laboratory and other chemical researchers, allowing for scientific interaction when needed. The CMLD labs, which incorporate a mix of traditional synthesis space (eleven 8 ft. hoods and associated benches, offices, etc.) and flexible work space appropriate for library synthesis and purification activities, are fully occupied by a combination of permanent staff as well as postdoctoral associates assigned to specific CMLD projects.
